About Us
GV Jones & Associates, Inc. (GVJ&A) has been providing process engineering consulting engineering services throughout Alaska since 1997. Our focus is providing planning, performance testing, design and development of bidding documents, permitting, and construction support services for potable water and domestic wastewater treatment systems. GVJ&A has a staff of seven engineers, three of whom are Alaska registered professional civil engineers. With the help and support of colleagues from other engineering disciplines we’ve been able to undertake and successfully complete design and construction projects for a variety of Alaskan utility systems.GVJ&A has enjoyed the opportunity to complete project work for several existing larger conventional potable water treatment plants including the development of a Facility Plan for the Eklutna Water Treatment Facility and the completion of upgrades to the filtration system to allow for Filter to Waste operation; the design of phased upgrades for the City of Petersburg's conventional treatment system; and the development of a dual membrane system for the Barrow Utilities and Electric Coop, Inc., including pre-design, a pilot study, and the final design and construction of the dual membrane plant. We have also been involved in a large number of smaller projects including several membrane systems for the Lower Kuskokwim School District and a cartridge filter system for the Tununak School; the design of an arsenic removal NF system for a client on the Kenai peninsula; the design of a new pressure filter system for a client in Bethel; and the completion of a corrosion study for the Lower Kuskokwim School District.
GVJ&A has been involved in a variety of waste water treatment projects as well. There has been project work at several large domestic wastewater treatment plants, including disinfection and headworks upgrades at the John M. Asplund Wastewater Treatment Facility and Facility Plan update and UV disinfection upgrades at the Eagle River Wastewater Treatment Facility. We have also been involved in projects involving smaller wastewater treatment systems including: aeration system upgrades, new headworks and UV disinfection for the Palmer Wastewater Treatment Plant; a Facility plan outlining a complete system upgrade for the City of Cordova, including new headworks, screenings and grit removal, and a separate rain-induced flow treatment process train; a design/build project for a client in Denali Canyon involving an MBR system; and the design and installation of five skidded MBR system for the Lower Kuskokwim School District.
With our local experience, we’ve developed a clear understanding of the State’s regulatory issues as apply to Alaskan public water and wastewater systems. In addition, with our office based in Anchorage, Alaska, we are able to make site visits and inspections without too much expense or difficulty.
